Note to our Church Real Life Group

This is a note Jeff wrote and had me read to our church Real Life Group that meets at our house weekly.

Dear Real Life Group Family,
Howdy from Camp Leatherneck, Helmand Province, Afghanistan.  It is hard to believe that in a few days we will be passing the 2 month mark for being here in country.  Its even harder to believe that I left my civilian job almost 9 months ago.  The days are passing much faster here than they did in California, so that is definitely a blessing.  Daily operations are going well and everyone has settled into their jobs and responsibilities.  Please continue to pray for our Marines, especially our Marines with Alpha Company operating in and around the Sangin River Valley which remains a very kinetic area of operations as the insurgency there continues to be squeezed and grows more desperate.  The summer brings the poppy harvest and increased activity as they try to move the drugs out of the country.  The weather, almost overnight has grown incredibly hot.  I really have no complaints though.  I do want everyone to know how much I appreciate the care package, and yall taking the time and thought to put it together.  Let the kids know I really appreciate the notes and drawings.  I know how much Abby enjoys having everyone over on Thursdays and I am glad that have continued to meet in our home.  I will be home very soon.  Take care of yourselves and each other.
